7:15 Freedom Fighters: The Ray

Picture
The 12-episode series will debut in December on CW Seed, the digital channel of The CW Network.
Raymond “Ray” Terrill was a reporter who discovered a group of government scientists working on a secret project to turn light into a weapon of mass destruction. But before he could report on his findings, the project head exposed Ray to a “genetic light bomb.” The bomb failed to kill him and instead gifted Ray with light-based powers. With these abilities, Ray realized he could go beyond reporting on injustice – he could take action to help stop it. Calling himself The Ray, he was recruited by Uncle Sam and the Freedom Fighters to fight violence and oppression wherever it exists. Based on characters from DC, the series will introduce the first gay Super Hero to lead a show. Freedom Fighters: The Ray is from Berlanti Productions in association with Blue Ribbon Content, with executive producers Greg Berlanti (Supergirl, The Flash, Arrow) and Marc Guggenheim (Arrow, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow).

Q. Allan Brocka’s work as a director and screenwriter spans a broad range of genres in television, animation, live action, documentary, commercial, and feature film.
He is best known as the creator of the award winning stop-motion animated series Rick & Steve the Gay Couple in all the World which aired two seasons on MTV's Logo Network and in 20 countries. He is also the writer and director of the award-winning feature films Boy Culture and Eating Out.

Allan’s first feature, Eating Out, was shot in 10 days for $43,000. The film won a host of film festival prizes and went on to a 30-city theatrical release. It became a giant cult hit, grossing $2 million in DVD sales and spawning four sequels.

Jeffery A Johns
producer/writer/lead

Picture
Jeffrey A Johns has been performing in the theatre since he can remember so when it came time for him to write his first feature film, he knew it had to be a musical.  As a producer/actor/writer it has been a great joy to bring two movie musicals to life, Waiting In The Wings: The Musical and Still Waiting In The Wings.  He has appeared in a variety of short films, web series, and independent feature films, but his biggest thrill was performing on America's Got Talent and Chelsea Lately.  He has worked in regional theatre throughout the county, performed in several national tours, and various theme parks including Disneyland and Walt Disney World.  Some of his favorite stage credits include performing in Tony ‘n Tina’s Wedding (Joey) at the Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, Pippin (Pippin), Pageant (Miss Deep South), West Side Story (A-Rab), Naked Boys Singing (Swing), and Sesame Street (National Tour and Dubai).  He is currently working on the stage adaptation of his original movie musical and wrote a children’s book entitled Have You Ever Tried To Stop The Rain?  Jeffrey can’t thank to all the people he’s had the opportunity to work with in the theatre world as they are the inspiration to writing Still Waiting In The Wings.  (What a wealth of character studies!!!)
