It's hard to imagine why this charming effort from director
P.J. Hogan (My Best Friend's Wedding, Muriel's Wedding) didn't find
a bigger audience. Kathy Bates is a frumpy homemaker whose world crumbles
after the death of the aging pop star she idolizes. Traveling to Great Britain
for his funeral, she encounters his lover, Rupert Everett, and an unusual
friendship begins. Terrific performances from a stellar cast (which also
includes Lynn Redgrave, Dan Aykroyd and Jonathan Pryce) make this nearly
forgotten little gem well worth seeking out. The DVD includes a deleted
scene, the trailer and full- and widescreen formats.
