OUR SHORTS ARE SHOWING....
an evening of gay and lesbian short films

Q Cinema continues its monthly film program with our first compilation evening called Our Shorts Are Showing... featuring a variety of new gay- and lesbian-themed short films designed to make you laugh, to make you cry to and to make you think. Included in the lineup:

Quintessence A new short film starring last month's special guest speaker Craig Chester as the former lover of man dying of AIDS who returns for one last visit only to be faced with reconciling with the man's embittered sister.

Going West A gay satire that follows smalltown boy Ben to the big city where he gets caught up in a militant gay organization determined to set the standard for a new generation of queers.

Knock 'Em Dead This touching and funny biopic focuses on comedian Georgia Ragsdale whose concert film Sporty Girls made its Texas premiere at the film festival two years ago.

Today and Tomorrow Oliver Tull of Fort Worth improv comedy troupe Four Day Weekend stars as a gay, white-collar office cypher who suffers unprovoked physical abuse at the hands of his co-workers in this allegorical rumination on hate crimes. Tull and co-filmmaker Rob McCollum will be on hand to talk about the film.

Sistas 'N the City What Sex in the City did for New York, this series of Web-based animated shorts hopes to do for Chicago as it focuses on four female friends: a publicist, a visual artist/painter, a lesbian neo-soul singer and a bonafide BAP (Black American Princess).

Sexy This animated poem from the creators of festival favorite The Rape of Ganymede, features five friends who argue, wax poetic and get nasty when they attempt to answer the question, "What is sexy?" From serious to sultry, revealing to raunchy, from romance to one night stands, this film is an ode to a subject to which all of us can relate.

The overall program is approximately 112 min. and is rated R for strong language, adult subject matter and brief nudity. The Four Day Weekend bar will be open for business and participants will be eligible for some fabulous door prizes.

Our Shorts Are Showing... starts at 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20 at the Four Day Weekend Theater (formerly the Caravan of Dreams) in downtown Fort Worth. Tickets are $7 and are available at Woody's Warehouse, 290 S. Jennings Ave. or at venue starting one hour prior to showtime.
