Party Monster -- The Shockumentary
QQQ

Documentarians Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato (The Eyes of Tammy Faye, 101 Rent Boys) offer a fascinating look at the New York "club kid" phenomenon of the mid-'80s with this low-budget, compelling examination of party boy Michael Alig and his transformation from newbie to club kid to party promoter to drug addict to murderer. With unflinching interviews with the folks who were there, this doc is far superior to the filmmaking duo's almost unwatchable new movie adaptation starring Macaulay Culkin and Seth Green. The DVD includes commentary from source author/documentary subject James St. James, video footage from the club scene, trailers, video wallpaper, featurette on the scene prior to the club kids and full-screen format.
