How this nearly pornographic weirdie ever managed a
theatrical release is beyond me. What begins as an almost interesting, largely
silent meditation on obsession devolves into a bizarre, fetishistic sideshow
that's certainly not for the squeamish. Ricardo Meneses is Sergio, an attractive,
lonely trash collector in Lisbon, Portugal, who becomes infatuated with
a macho motorcyclist on his route. Dividing his time between his job, stalking
the biker, having anonymous sex with men and submitting to any number of
his other cruder desires, Sergio eventually goes off the deep end and takes
the movie (and whatever audience is left) right along with him. The DVD
features filmmaker commentary, audition footage, poster and photo gallery,
a feature that lets you jump to the naughty bits, trailers and widescreen
format.
