Has it really been a decade since Q Cinema first came on the scene as a tiny film discussion group
watching The Celluloid Closet in my living room? It doesn’t feel like it. But it just might when we
get to the 10th day of this year’s supersized festival. Film has always been our focus and this
year’s line-up features almost 30 titles including one Continental United States premiere, 11
Southwest premieres and five Texas premieres with titles from Great Britian, Canada, France, Morocco
and Puerto Rico as well as new works directed by Dallasites and a University of North Texas graduate.
But this year, between the flicks, we’re adding something extra into the mix, including live music,
comedy, art, theater, opera, a drag pageant, a singalong and nightly parties throughout Cowtown. You
can also expect to mix and mingle with more filmmakers and stars than ever before. What a long, gay
journey it’s been and we’re glad you stuck with us these last 10 years. Here’s to 10 more years of
fun in the dark together.
