Shows like Six Foot Under and Buffy the Vampire Slayer have featured characters who swing both ways, and what about the most famous bisexual kiss of all — you guessed it Madonna and Britney at the MTV Video Music Awards. If you think bisexuality is just having your cake and eating it, you will be surprised to hear that it’s on the rise, especially among teens and 20-something's and filmmakers Brittany Blockman and Josephine Decker have made it their mission to find out why. Tirelessly journeying across the length and breath of the U.S. we meet five members of the "whatever generation". Pam who got expelled from school for being caught in a lip-lock with another girl; Josh, Jonathan Caouette's (Tarnation) precocious 11-year-old son who thinks he is going to be bisexual when he grows up; partners Rage and Taryn who are testing the limits of their monogamy; Tahj, a black hip-hop dancer weighing the rejection of his community against his sexual identity; and David, an attractive actor and star of the Chicago play Planet of the Bisexuals. Among these stories are interviews with clinical physiologists, evolutionary biologists, sociologists, the Kinsey Institute, and wry remarks from gay cultural commentators Michael Musto and Dan Savage. Pansexual, bi-available, bi-curious, hetro-flexible, metrosexual and maybe no label at all, whichever way you look at it Bi is cool. Embrace it! Directors: Brittany Blockman & Josephine Decker |
