"If anyone can think of a better set-up for a horror film
than lesbian ex-lovers camping in Texas, I'll pay to hear it."

-- Fab Magazine

Following the classic slasher genre tradition of Halloween and Friday the 13th, Make a Wish is a horror flick with a lesbian twist! A sassy and sexy group of 30-something ex-girlfriends and current lovers go on an annual, secluded camping trip. It's surly Susan's (Moynan King) birthday and she gathers the clan together to celebrate, but this year starts off ominously when one doesn't arrive. Nonetheless, sporty Monica comes with Andrea who only knows how to camp based on what she watches on reality TV. Sultry, bi-curious Linda ditches her boyfriend for the weekend to play in the woods. Rounding out the group is the militant vegan, Chloe, and the timid Wiccan, Dawn. Even before disaster strikes, a creepy hunter propositions Susan, Linda's boyfriend threatens to disrupt the weekend and someone has escaped from the mental hospital! As they set out hiking, fishing and frolicking with one another, lesbians start to mysteriously disappear. Who's next and by what means: crossbow, blow torch, knife to the throat? First time director Sharon Ferranti skillfully creates humorous, sexual and tense scenarios that will have you on the edge of your seat. Think twice the next time you trek off into the woods with your ex-girlfriends to roast some marshmallows. (96 min.) -- Kelly Burkhardt, Philadelphia Gay & Lesbian International Film Festival
