This formulaic Thai import about a group of underdog athletes scoffed at by their competitors and audiences might be dismissed as another entry in the already overstuffed genre of cliche-ridden sports fare. But the sport in question is volleyball, and the team of misfits is a Thai, all-male group made up mostly of gays, transvestites and transsexuals. The portrayals are over the top (and not all that flattering), but the film's irrepressibly cheery approach and its genuinely heartfelt (though often ham-handed) message, make it tough not to like. The DVD includes the theatrical trailer; widescreen format.
