LOOKING FOR GODOT
5 p.m. Sunday, June 24, Caravan of Dreams Theater
Grace Sisyphus has just lost her only son. He was beaten
to death because he was a gay cabaret performer, and his attackers remain
at large. Now, her daughter Godot has disappeared. Imagining the worst,
Grace elicits the assistance of two bumbling detectives. Fear is the catalyst,
as she and the dicks embark on a perilous and hilarious adventure, which
will remove them from their isolated existence and immerse them in the exhilarating
activity of the gay community. They uncover some unlikely heroes as they
overcome their despair, harness their brain power, and pour all of their
energies into Looking for Godot. Canadian theatre legends JoJo Rideout,
Michael Kennard and John Turner bring depth, humor, and soul to the three
principal roles. Not rated R equivalent. Canada, 2001, color, video.
