The Fluffer (2002)
Writers/Directors: Richard Glatzer and Wash West

Richard Glatzer (Grief) and imaginative adult video director Wash West's (Naked Highway) collaborative coming-of-age story set against the backdrop of the gay porn industry manages to satisfy anyone disappointed with the watered-down Boogie Nights, while never treading too far on the salacious side. LA newbie Sean (Michael Cunio) nurtures his obsession with porn star Johnny Rebe (Scott Gurney) by landing a job at the video company at which Rebel performs. Low-budget, but well made, and the leads are surprisingly good. The best part, however, is watching Sean's boss _ played by Robert Walden of TV's Lou Grant _ wax nostalgic about his own days in the "biz." The DVD includes an unrated version; Johnny Rebel scrapbook; bonus shots; directors' commentary; photo gallery; deleted scenes; trailers; widescreen format.
