Jim in Bold
Noon Saturday, June 21, Victory Arts Center

A documentary about life and death and being young and gay in America. The film uses the tragic story of Jimmy Wheeler -- a gay teen from the small town of Lebanon, Penn., who committed suicide at age 19 -- to reveal the deadly impact of homophobia and everyday harassment and violence that is directed toward lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgendered young people in our society. The film also shows a hopeful aspect of life for young gay Americans. The innovative production design includes animation, poetry, video diaries and gripping emotional interviews. US, 2003, 70 min., video
