Boys Shorts II
5 p.m. Saturday, June 21, Victory Arts Center
A lonely obituary writer discovers love and acceptance with the bear community in A Bear's Story. Unexpected surprises are served up with the holiday eggnog when two sisters bring their new boyfriends home for Christmas in Fruitcake. An out-of-control bitch realizes that the party doesn't go on forever in Fine Line, a music video from Dallas filmmaker Hunter Nolen. Timing is everything in the split-screen digital film This Car Up that follows the synchronized lives of two unlikely lovers. It's from the director of World and Time Enough, which screened at the 1999 film festival. In Quintessence, Dallas actor Craig Chester stars as the former lover of man dying of AIDS who returns for one last visit only to be faced with reconciling with the man's embittered sister.
